Default Best Tips

Here is a question for those of you who consider yourselves successful bloggers. What do you consider to be the best advice or tip that you can give somebody just starting out? What has been the most crucial advice you've taken to become as successful as you are now?

Re-read what you are planning to post before you post it and run spell checker. I see tons of nice blog sites with great content but it takes twice as long to read through it as there are tons of typo's all over the place.

I don't know how you defined a successful blogger but to me, he is the one who is able to make lots of money from his blog. I would suggest that we choose a category that we have passion and knowledge in it and then invest a little of our hard earned money into those blogging ebooks in the market.

I have tried a few of them and I found that the information that these ebooks contained are priceless and we will be able to recoup our investment in a very short time.

I'm not what I would call a successful blogger but I have read many of them. The best ones are engaging and get the reader involved by posting comments, often carrying on conversations with each other as well as the author. The comments become part of the content and just as interesting to read when it's done right.

I feel like I can learn a lot from this thread; thanks for the good basic tip chancie! So many people underestimate the impression that too many typo's leaves on an audience, in my opinion. Even novice blog readers get turned off by that kind of unprofessionalism.

I think everybody has valid points here. I do think that a successful blogger should encourage debate and conversation in their comments. When somebody has a response to a blog, it means it has had some sort of affect on them.

I have to agree that I feel really pleased when something I wrote elicited a response from readers. I'm pleased when I see new comments and I just love it when they begin to form conversations in the comment section.

I think another thing that turns me off when I stumble to a new site is seeing that the person is flip flopping between what they talk about. I have seen some that are advertised as say a Motorcycle site, then you see more things that do not relate to the suggested sites theme, and that bugs me. I guess that would go under "Figure out what you want" or some sorts like that.

I agree - I hate blogs that talk about any topic under the sun and don't understand why anyone would choose to do that. They need to realize that most of the people will end up bored by most of the posts that way. Better to stick to one focus so people can follow you.

I agree with this. I like to be able and decide the topic I want to read on. It's hard to do that with a blog that is all over the place with its content.

My best advice is to make sure you use keywords for SEO. That might not be the best tip, but in my opinion it is one of the easiest.

Consistency is so vital. Allowing your blog to get old and outdated drives folks away. Persistences is one key.

Probably that you have to actually sort of LIKE your topic. When you write for money it sort of topples over and eventually fails. It's frustrating when you write about something you hate...

Choose a niche you enjoy writing about. Remember you'll be updating this blog every day/week, so it is important that your interested in what you do. If not, it would definitely show on your posts and you can't attract readers with blah content.

Write you own content.
Edit your own work at least twice.
If you don't speak fluent gramatically correct English then hire someone else to write for you, or at very worst to edit your work.

it is better to blog about things you are interested in..if you blog about some thing just because it is popular you will find it boring after some time..
